UMNO Klang division is using racist issue for backing Zakaria Md Deros as the Klang division chief and state assemblyman for Port Klang; and urging the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Selangor Menteri Besar to retain Zakaria as a municipal councillor.
Their reasons are to defend the pride of Malays and to defend their special interest. The Klang UMNO also slammed opposition parties for trying to flame the issue and influence Sultan of Selangor for his decision to ask for Zakaria’s resignation. [source]
Both MCA and DAP already retaliate against the statement, condemning the UMNO leaders for playing a dangerous card.
I expect the government leaders to issue warnings to those involved in the issue as well, those words are very irresponsible for a sensitive multi-racial country like Malaysia.
Zakaria Md Deros is a clear law breaker, it doesn’t matter if he’s Malay or not. The public will be as critical to any corruption regardless of races or religion. HE BREAKS THE LAW, as simple as ABC.
It’s ashamed to see a municipal councillor breaking the laws, and it’s even worst to see him and his supporters using unreasonable race card in defence. Morons!
