Weekend Mail becomes the 4th newspaper to be suspended by Malaysia government in 2006, under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1987 (PPPA).

The government has earlier suspended Berita Petang, Guang Ming Daily and Sarawak Tribune for publishing offensive issues.

Malaysia Ex-PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for mild heart attack.

The former Prime Miniser was admitted to IJN around 4am on November 9 (Thursday) for a mild myocardial infarction.

Mathathir’s condition is stable and is expected to be kept under observation in a coronary care unit for a week.

Get well soon Dr Mahathir.

Education minister Hishammuddin Hussein is compiling a study on the effectiveness of English as the medium of language for the teaching of Mathematics and Science; the study would be completed by 2008.

That’s rubbish! Shouldn’t the education ministry be keeping a close eye on the effect on the system when it was first introduced a few years ago? And even if Hishammuddin started compiling the report now, why on earth does he need more than a year to give a conclusion?

It’s becoming a trend that UMNO leaders like to use race card to raise their own profile, and the trend become obvious during the UMNO assembly each year.

Come on, Malays are not under threat by other races in Malaysia. If they is a situation where Malaysians are under threat of racial issues, it’s non-Malays that should feel unsecured instead; non-Malays are the minorities after all, don’t overestimate their power.

Brendan Pereira will end his term of service as group editor of the New Straits Times (NST) on Dec 31.

The announcement of resignation came at a bad time, just when the blogosphere is looming with accusations that Pereira was plagiarising an article from Mitch Albom.

The troubled Port Klang state assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Md Deros has apologized for building a huge bungalow at possibly an unsuitable place.

Point is he’s apologizing for the wrong thing. He broke the law for not submitting building plans, not for building a large house to fit in his huge family.
